Swiss check-in

How do I check-in for my SWISS flight?

Swiss check-in offers several options to SWISS passengers before or after arrival:

  • Automated check-in.
  • Web & mobile check-in.
  • Check-in machine at the airport.
  • Check-in the evening before.

Can you tell me what Swiss airport check-in times are?

It is important to note that Swiss check-in desk opening and closing times vary depending on the departure airport and flight duration. Check-in desks open 2–4 hours before departure. There are different check-in deadlines for different travel classes:

  • Economy & Premium Economy: From 30 to 90 minutes before departure.
  • Business & First: 30 minutes to 60 minutes before departure.

All check-in times for flights departing from Tel Aviv are two hours before departure, whereas the check-in times for codeshare flights are determined by the operating airline.

The following airports are not allowed to print PDF boarding passes: Cairo, Delhi, and Hurghada.

The Following Swiss Flights Operated By Partner Airlines Will Redirect You To Their Check-In Applications:

  • Air Canada – flies from Switzerland to Canada.
  • Austrian Airlines – flies between Switzerland and Austria.

Mobile Check-in with Swiss.

  • Install the Swiss Airlines app on your smartphone.

  • It would be helpful if you could provide your last name and PNR number.
  • Select the traveler you wish to check in.
  • Decide where you want to sit.
  • If you check luggage, you must provide its weight and measurements.
  • Save your boarding pass to your smartphone after reviewing it.

Mobile Boarding Pass

In addition to an Internet-enabled mobile phone, the departure airport must support this form of check-in. A mobile boarding pass is sent as a text message or e-mail, replacing a traditional paper boarding pass.

A mobile boarding pass must be exchanged for a paper boarding pass at check-in. Mobile boarding passes cannot be used at Cairo, Dar es Salaam, Delhi, Hurghada, Marrakech, Muscat, Beijing, and Shanghai airports.

Check-in automated

If you choose Automated Check-in when booking your Swiss flight online at Swiss.com, you will receive your boarding pass 20 hours before departure. You can go straight to the gate on departure day if you are traveling with only hand baggage, and the option is available for your destination. A printable boarding pass or mobile boarding pass can be sent via e-mail or SMS.

Up to 72 hours in advance of departure, you can enter additional passenger information online. Around 20 hours before departure, you will be notified if the information is incomplete or unavailable. As a result, you will no longer be able to automatically check in. If you do not receive your boarding pass or notification before 20 hours before departure, you cannot use automated check-in, but you can still choose another option.

Check-in kiosks

  • It is necessary to go to the airport and find the check-in kiosk machine
  • Start the check-in process by touching the kiosk screen
  • Enter your last name and Swiss flight e-ticket number
  • Check your flight details and confirm your check-in
  • Make sure your boarding pass is printed
  • Passengers must show their boarding pass and a government-issued photo ID card to the gate agent before boarding a Swiss flight.

Automated check-in

If you haven’t already checked in, a check-in machine can guide you through the check-in process in just a few steps. The check-in machine can accommodate up to 9 passengers. It is possible to print your boarding pass, choose your seat, and even attach baggage tags to a check-in machine (according to local regulations). Changing your “Miles & More” number or seat or printing your boarding pass at the check-in machine is possible after you’ve checked in.

Make sure you check in the night before.

Check-in is available for all classes, as well as for all Swiss and Edelweiss flights departing from Zurich the night before. You will need your boarding pass if you wish to check your baggage the previous day. In combination with Online Check-in, you may check your luggage up to 23 hours before departure.
